Well!

It's been forever since I've updated either of my blogs... Time's flown by and I'm already going into the final year of my degree! What! It seems like only yesterday I was moving into my dilapidated room in Tache Hall and worrying about whether or not I would make it into University Singers. Well, I made it into Singers and have been the vice-president of the council for two years and will be again this year! :) Since my first year, I've come to realize that my true passion lies in choral music and I'm hoping that I have what it takes to become a choral conductor someday. I'm taking all of the choral courses that the U of M offers this year - I'm so excited!
I'll do my best to keep this thing updated this year!

... Only Six Weeks Left?!

So... this blog didn't really get off the ground, did it? It's been a busy year! And it'll be coming to an end in a little over six weeks - wow.
March is going to be absolutely insane; a fellow music student tells me that it's known as the "apocalypse" in the faculty... Festival, recitals, musical theatre rehearsals and performances, presentations, exams, the last, crucial assignments, final concerts, due dates for scholarship and bursary applications, preparation for jury... I think I may find myself experiencing some sleepless nights fairly soon!
On a positive note, a friend of mine and I have been going to the gym regularly! We went, I believe, 6 or 7 times in the last... 9 days? What a great feeling! Not only physically but mentally as well; just knowing that you're taking care of your body sure boosts your self-esteem. Yay :)

A New Beginning...

So I'm attempting to get another blog started - this time, for my first year at university as a Bachelor of Music undergrad! I'll be at the University of Manitoba... a good distance from my hometown, Boyle, Alberta, but definitely not as far as Sendai City, Japan. Nervousness is starting to set in, especially now that I'm doing a scholarship course from the 18th to the 25th in the city. I hadn't known I was going until the beginning of this week and therefore hadn't begun the arduous and time-consuming packing for uni. Now I'm kind of scrambling to get everything organized and sorted, which is quite the task for a scatterbrain like myself... haha. I'm leaving tomorrow morning, returning the night of the 25th, spending the 26th with the fam and packing, then leaving for Manitoba the next day. Once we get there, there'll be an orientation for both myself and my parents and time to set up my room. Then I have auditions for the Opera Workshop and the University Singers on the 2nd and 3rd; I'm really hoping I get into the University Singers ensemble... however, it's the director's decision who goes where... eep!
Classes officially begin on the 3rd; I hope all goes well and that I manage to find my way around!! Wish me luck!!
